Come and join us at the Fair! Everyone is welcome, including participants, spectators, and volunteers. If you’re interested in participating, please email info@sjcdog.com or text 360-378-2806 to sign up.
Participating in dog shows can be beneficial for both you and your furry friend. It can help deepen your bond, improve your dog’s focus on distractions, and build life skills for behavior around strangers and other dogs. It’s also a fun way to spend time with other dog enthusiasts, build your own confidence, and even win cool prizes.
Newbies, as well as experienced handlers, are welcome! We’ll be holding practice sessions, so don’t worry if you’re new to this.

The show will include:
Click on links for more information on each class
– Showmanship: This class involves the handler being judged instead of the dog, and any breed or mix can participate! You’ll need to strut your stuff and show off your dog. The dog will be on a leash and will need to trot and stand for examination by the judge.
– Obedience: This class demonstrates your dog’s knowledge of sit, down, stay, loose leash walking (heel), and recall. Depending on the level you sign up for, your dog may be on or off the leash.
– Dog Tricks: Show off the tricks your dog knows! There are two levels: Beginner (2 tricks) and Intermediate (5 tricks off-leash).
– Agility: Navigate a dog agility course that includes jumps, an A-frame, a tunnel, a pause table, and a dog walk. Experienced competitors can also include weave poles.
– Canine Good Citizen Fun Test: See if your dog can successfully complete this test of social skills. This test includes elements from both Showmanship and Obedience and incorporates various distractions. This will be a fun test, great practice for an official test. Planning on having an official CGC evaluator at the Fair.
You can win ribbons and prizes in each class, as well as a Total Dog (Best in Show) ribbon and prize.
Anyone can participate, as long as they are physically able to handle their dog and navigate the ring. Puppies 6 months and older are welcome, and all breeds and mixes are eligible to participate. However, fearful or overly reactive dogs should stay at home. Proof of current vaccinations or recent titer is required. If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know in advance.
Spectators and volunteers are welcome! To volunteer, please email us.
We’ll be holding skills workshops prior to the show. Advance sign-up for practices is required. Email or join our Facebook group to participate.
Donations are accepted and will be used to offset show costs and to purchase prizes, ribbons, equipment, etc. for future shows.
